We engaged Roy and Lisa to build our custom designed home located in Tallebudgera Valley on the Gold Coast. From our initial site meeting it was apparent on how passionate Roy was about constructing custom, high quality builds.

Throughout the building process Roy and Lisa maintained excellent communication regarding the build details and progress. During site visits it was apparent on the quality of work that Roy and his team of trades work too. Roy's attention to detail and 'no shortcut' approach was nothing but amazing. Our build involved a lot of straight lines and sharp edges meaning precision building techniques needed to be applied. Roy achieved this to a very high level. Roy was also very flexible and accommodating to any changes, nothing too big or small was an issue.

We can't recommend Roy and Lisa enough; they built us an amazing home and made the whole process as least stressful as possible. If we choose to build another home, we will have no hesitation is using CustomBuilt again. Without doubt one of the best home builders on the Gold Coast.

During the build process Roy suggested changes which we were told by other builders 'No we can't do that'. Changes like vaulted ceilings to our Living Area and Alfresco, changing the cornices to match the skirtings to give the house a very up market look.

Roy and his team worked through heavy rain periods where other builders would have walked away and gone home for the day. A remarkable change which we appreciated. He stuck to the time frame and we were in our house by Christmas.

We would like to thank Roy, his team and sub-contractors for their professional approach to our build and the relaxed atmosphere with all of us working together as a team which made the process less stressful.

In the past, working with builders and subcontractors has been incredibly painful at best, even after having performed extensive research - inspecting previous builds, checking references and preparing detailed contracts. Roy and his team at Custombuilt Builders did an outstanding job. I was being mucked around by my original builder and got a referral to Roy who was at the time completing another build locally.

I was immediately impressed by the companies workmanship and more importantly Roy's attitude. As a first time owner builder, I wasn't sure on how my ideas were going to work in practice and how the build was going to come together. Building a hamptons style house with difficult features like a high timber lined ceiling, exposed eaves and feature trusses, Roy was happy to work with me offering great advice and organising a team to get the job done quickly and to the highest standard. We were referred to Roy Allen of Custombuilt Builders by a friend who had recently completed the building of their new home.

From our first meeting with Roy it was evident he wasn't going to be just another builder who project managed sub contractors to complete our renovation. Roy would be on site and on the tools, working alongside his tradesman building on our vision. He was honest and reliable (yes, he turned up when he said he would) with good communication skills and was willing to share ideas and suggestions as he saw the renovation taking shape.

He understood our vision and was willing and more importantly, capable in helping us create the vision we had for our renovation. He came for a 4 week project and ended up staying for 3 months as our ideas expanded. He had innovative ideas and we often collaborated on site to come up with his next masterpiece.

Roy and his team are true craftsmen, from our handcrafted blackbutt bar and accents to our timber balustrades, all were constructed on sight custombuilt for our home.
